German Style White Bean Soup

Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon whole caraway seeds
1 pound great northern beans, washed and sorted
2 1/2 quarts water
3 tablespoons FIVE STAR HAM STOCK
1/2 cup diced onions
2 cups large diced yellow potatoes (German Butterball or Yukon Gold)
4 cups rough chopped green cabbage
1/2 pound Polish Kielbasa sausage, large diced
Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Directions:
Toast the caraway seeds in a dry soup pot over medium high heat until fragrant
and lightly browned. Add the beans, HAM STOCK and water to the pot. Stir well,
cover and bring to a boil then simmer for 1 1/2hours. Add the onions, potatoes,
cabbage and sausage. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add pepper to taste and
serve.

This recipe produces approximately 6 - 12 ounce portions.
