Hickory and Cider Oven Smoked Ribs

Ingredients:
6 pounds pork spare ribs
1/4 cup vegetable oil
6 tablespoons FIVE STAR HICKORY SEASONING
2 cups plus 2 tablespoons water, divided
2 - 12 ounce bottles hard cider (or substitute 3 cups plain apple cider)
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 tablespoons corn starch

Directions:
Preheat oven to 300F. Rub the ribs with oil then sprinkle evenly all over with
HICKORY SEASONING. Pour the water and cider into a large roasting pan.
Lay ribs in the pan and bake covered for 3 hours. Carefully (the ribs will be very
tender) pour the pan juices into a saucepan. Cover the ribs and keep warm. Skim
the fat off of the pan juices and discard, add the corn syrup and bring to a boil.
Dissolve the corn starch in the 2 tablespoons water and whisk into the sauce.
Divide the ribs into equal portions, coat with the sauce and serve, passing around
the extra sauce.

This recipe produces 6 portions.
