Lodge Burgers with Ancho Mayonnaise
Ingredients:
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 whole egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons FIVE STAR CANADIAN GRILLE SEASONING
˝ cup fresh soft breadcrumbs
1 cup real mayonnaise
2 tablespoons FIVE STAR ANCHO FLAVORMAK’R
8 slices smoked bacon
8 slices cheddar cheese
8 slices fresh tomato
8 pieces lettuce leaves
8 whole wheat Kaiser rolls
Directions:
Combine the first four ingredients, mix well and form into 8 – 4 ounce patties.
Combine the mayonnaise and ANCHO FLAVORMAK’R in a bowl and chill until
needed. Cut the bacon strips in half, cook until crisp, put on paper towels to
drain
and set aside until needed. Heat a gas or charcoal grill to medium high heat.
Grill
the burgers for 4 to 5 minutes per side. Remove from the grill, put onto a
platter
and place a slice of cheese and 2 half slices of bacon on each then tent with
foil.
Open up the Kaiser rolls and place a tomato slice, lettuce leaf and a dollop of
ancho
mayonnaise on each of the Kaiser roll tops. Put a burger patty on each of the
bottoms
and serve.
This recipe produces approximately 8 – 4 ounce portions.
